IVL’s SAP Solution for Subscription Model for Telecom Client

Brief:

The document briefs about our engagement with a multinational technology company. Our client specializes in Digital Business communication solutions and services. Over the period of the last three years, we have worked on multiple SAP projects for the client and won extensive accolades.

Client Requirement:

Our client had a new offer which will be a part of the enterprise offer and was looking for:

  • Solution Selling instead of product selling and remove technical complexity from Sales
  • Standard commercial offer structure to support Capex, hybrid Capex/Opex, and pure Opex/Enterprise Cloud deals
  • Ability to offer Upgrades or Capex to Opex as IPP Credits for existing licenses and re-use of HW (optionally).
  • Leverage standardized client- and 3rd party-hosted Enterprise Cloud solutions as well as standardized Enterprise Opex Service solutions.
  • Re-architect selling processes to support capability-based offering for Point-of-Sales and Renewal business
  • Establish a simplified onboarding, change, and disconnect capability/process.
  • Support orchestration capabilities for new licenses/ changes/ disconnect/ renewals.

Our Challenges:

The scale of the project was big, and it needed a lot of coordination across systems to be able to deliver the change. Also, as most of the members are offshore during the project, it was a challenge to work seamlessly and support during US times most of the time.

Solutions We Offered:

In October 2019, the initial requirement began. The schedule of first drop was in April 2020 and Drop 2 was deployed in June and July. At present Drop 3 related changes are in progress and in deployment stage.

The solution offered is based on a Subscription framework along with a simplified material structure. Our solution took care of both fixed and usage billing pieces seamlessly and most parts of the process were touchless and fully automated. We followed the agile methodology and included multiple releases or drops

We started with 02 members and now we are a team of 08 members. The team has learned various client elements like Variant Pricing, Understanding of Clients Subscription model, and future growth plan.

Technologies Used:

Usage calculation with SAP CM and Uploading in SAP (ECC) as it is a usage-based offer. With the help of variant pricing of tier-based pricing a Simplified Material structure delivery was achieved.
